Lodging and rooms

The Log Cabin is built of Finnish deadwood. The end wall along Raitopolku has wall sockets for car heaters. There is a driveway up to the main door for loading and unloading passengers and luggage.

The Cabin square area is 240 square meters (2600 sq ft), as much as in a large ranch house. All rooms are on one level: there are no open lofts, no stairs, no low overheads. There is a spacious covered terrace. The key is in a lockbox on the left. You will receive the code before your arrival.

When entering from the entrance, the first room is the hallway. There is a coat rack in the hallway. To the right from the hallway lies the bedroom wing with five bedrooms. Four of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. One of the rooms with two beds does not have an en suite bathroom, but there is an interior door to another en suite. The corner room is equipped with bunk beds. The bedroom wing has a total of 11 beds. Room number One has an Isku double bed. The fireplace room has two beds. There are a total of 13 beds in the Cabin.

The bedroom doors can be locked. The corridor to the bedroom wing also has a door. The separate bedroom wing and the use of deadwood in interior walls, as well, ensures excellent sound insulation and fresh air in bedrooms. The Cabin is equipped with mechanical ventilation. The top blowers were renovated, and the ventilation was balanced in 2017.

The Cabin roof was reinforced in Summer 2017. The roof was intact, but another layer of roofing felt was added. There were no signs of water damages.

To the left of the hallway lies the spacious and well-ventilated utility room. It is equipped with a Miele washer and a condensing tumble drier. The fireplace room lies behind a door. It has rattan chairs, two sofas, a flat TV and a pellet fireplace. The pellet fireplace is showy, easy to use and safe. It also generates heat. There is also a Smeg refridgerator in the fireplace room.

The shower room is equipped with three thermostatic showers. There is room for even a large party in the sauna. There is an exit in the fireplace room to a small outdoor terrace.

There are two separate toilets in the hallway. The Cabin has a total of seven showers and six toilets.

From the hallway onwards there is the living room. The living room is tall, and the interior walls are also made of deadwood. The equipment consists of furniture sets for socializing, a 65” Internet-enabled TV, and a slate fireplace.

The dinette is furnished with a dining table for ten.

The kitchen has been modernized: a flat-top stove, two refridgerators, a wine cooler, an upright freezer, a Miele coffee maker, a two-pot Moccamaster coffee maker.

There are dishes for 20 diners – Birger Kaipiainen’s Paratiisi set and Tapio Wirkkala’s Ultima Thule glasses.

The kitchen has an exit to the back porch and the ski care room. There are skis, poles, ski shoes, and ski wax supplies in the room for the Lodgers’ use. Additionally the Lodgers are supplied with plastic toboggans, a kick sled and a bobsled. The distance to the connecting ski trail is 40 meters (55 yards). There is also firewood, pellets, a bike (for trips to the grocery store), and a garbage bin on the back porch.

The entrance to the Cabin has a door to the room, it is also very good for privat office.
